Bough Beech
Voted best in show at the O Gauge Guild Convention Telford 2002
Bough Beech is an “O” gauge Modern Image fictional
layout. Loosely based on a branch off the Redhill to Tonbridge line (non
electrified) on the Southern region. The layout comprises a two-platform
terminus station, two engineers’ yards, and a small traction maintenance
depot.
The era the layout is based is mid 1990s to present
day. I have about thirty locomotives; so far twenty are built, and over
fifty wagons. Locos liveries include EWS, Mainline, Transrail, Loadhaul,
DRS, GBRf, Freightliner and Fragonset.
There is also a Balfour Beatty liveried Tamper,
Railtrack MPV and a Thames Turbo on the passenger side.
The layout measured 34foot x 2foot 6inches, with
the whole 34foot scenic (the fiddle yard runs behind one of the
engineers yards).
The layout also has working colour light signals,
platform lights and yard lights.
The layout was sold in 2008 to make way for

the southern region and is third railed.
Leavesden is a
fictious location on the outskirts of Biggin Hill and is the station

which are served by various electric units including 2 and 4 EPBs, 2
HAPs, 4CIGs, 4VEPs and Networkers. There is also an Inter City cross

ling point and a siding used by the tanks for the aviation fuel for the
airport.
Leavesden is 40ft
long by 2ft 6in wide (7ft including operating space) and is self
supporting, it is DCC control and all locos, units are sound fitted. Two
six foot stock tables would be required.
A transit sized van
